Grants Coordinator

The Grants Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring that organizations receiving federal grants adhere to all regulatory requirements and guidelines set forth by the Office of Economic Opportunity. This position involves monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on grant recipients' compliance with federal and state grant terms and conditions.

Responsibilities of Grants Coordinator:

  • You will conduct regular on-site visits and desk review of grant recipients to assess their compliance with federal and state regulations. You will review financial records, programmatic activities, and documentation to ensure adherence to grant terms and identify any potential issues. You will recommend opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the compliance monitoring process to senior manager.

  • You will evaluate sub grantee project performance and compliance with agency initiatives monthly, quarterly, and annually. You will identify patterns or trends in sub recipient reporting, expenditures, initiatives, and non-compliance and recommend proactive measures to mitigate assessed risks.

  • You will provide guidance and assistance to grant recipients in understanding and complying with federal and state requirements and will prepare and conduct individual agency and statewide trainings. You will participate in the development of new policies and procedures related to grant compliance. Assist in preparing and implementing statewide trainings.

  • You will maintain regulatory knowledge of current federal and state grant regulations, policies, and guidelines. You will serve as a program liaison for other federal, state, local agency representatives, and the public on issues pertaining to related program issues.

  • You will assist in the review of statewide and federal reports to evaluate program compliance and accomplishment of objectives.

  • You will perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., finance, public administration, or a related discipline.)

Additional Requirements:

The ideal candidate should possess: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication. Effective interpersonal skills for working with diverse grant recipients. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records. Working knowledge of computers and word processing software. Works with minimal supervision, manages time effectively, maintains control of all current projects/responsibilities. Experience with grants or compliance monitoring is advantageous. Candidate must become ROMA certified within first year of employment. Must possess a valid South Carolina driver's license. Position requires routine driver duties and may require overnight travel.
