The Grants Administrator in the College of Social Work's Research Office will focus on pre-award grants management services supporting all sponsored research in the college. The grants administrator will direct the proposal development for faculty in conjunction with OSP staff.

This position will assist faculty in the preparation of external grant proposals by identifying administrative requirements and sources of any required cost sharing, reviewing program guidelines and determining staffing requirements, evaluating costs, expenditures and preparing fiscal projections for use in budget determinations. This position will assemble proposals, assist faculty with submitting applications to ensure accuracy and submits final budgets to the OSP sponsored program officer (SPO). In coordination with the Research Office team this position will be responsible for organizing, leading, advising, and occasionally performing post-award duties. This position serves as back-up for post-award research activity and in that capacity they will assist faculty, staff, and students with revising and implementing project budgets, managing public access compliance, reviewing and approving expenditures on sponsored projects, assisting with preparing progress and final reports, preparing no cost extension requests, directing and overseeing project close-out, and serving as liaison between the college and the Office of Sponsored Programs. This position reports to the CSW Associate Dean for Research with a dotted line to the Chief Administrative Officer.

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; proficiency with computer software applications including Microsoft Word and Excel; experience in grants budgeting.

Knowledge of university processes and applications; experience with Office of Research and OSP policies, rules and regulations; experience in a higher education setting working with project administration; excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail, accuracy and deadlines; experience with federal acquisition rules and uniform guidance.

Desired Requirements: * BS Degree in business administration, contracts administration or a relevant degree is highly desired. * Prior experience in a manufacturing environment as a contracts manager. * Experience working with supply chain portals for larger defense contractors.
