Summary of Job Duties:

The Grant Specialist will provide guidance to EECS faculty in developing, coordinating, and submitting proposals for extramural funding from private, federal, and state sources. The Grant Specialist will review proposal documents to ensure compliance with the guidelines set by funding agencies. Additionally, the Grant Specialist will review budgets and budget justifications to ensure appropriate allocation of funds per the funding agency, state/federal policy, and University policy.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education

• Experience in a position related to research activities at a university, non-profit, or research institution

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with research administration in a higher education setting

• Ability to function in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Knowledge of federal and state regulations for grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements

• Knowledge of Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards

• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Excel and Word

• Ability to work independently and professionally with external and internal stakeholders
