Job Description
The Grant & Project Support Coordinator, Senior will work closely with the Assistant Director and independently facilitate oversight and administration of the grant and contracting process and procedures within Ecoss. In collaboration with the Assistant Director, the Grant & Project Support Coordinator, Senior will manage and track key tasks and workloads across the unit.
The Grant & Project Support Coordinator, Senior will provide assistance to Principal Investigators (PIs) through the pre-award and post-award grant process, including: liaising with the Office of Sponsored Projects to facilitate grant submission and project close out, managing internal processes to maintain documents, track and monitor grant expenditures and agency requirements are being followed. The Grant & Project Support Coordinator, Senior will communicate with external sponsors and collaborators to meet sponsored project goals, and review and present project information to PIs to facilitate effective and timely reporting.
The Grant & Project Support Coordinator, Senior will lead in providing information, instruction, interpretation, and technical support to internal Ecoss Faculty and Staff involved in sponsored projects. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and dynamic research culture, will have training opportunities, and will have potential for career advancement.
Pre-Award and Post-Award Grant Support
Serve as the Ecoss point of contact and liaison with the NAU Office of Sponsored Projects.
Monitor and reconcile expenditures on sponsored projects.
Plan and coordinate periodic meetings with PIs and Lab Managers to support the Unit mission.
Maintain and track project information.
Facilitate reporting for internal NAU units and external agencies, including federal and non-profit groups.
Support the preparation of submission materials, including: Curriculum Vitaes (CVs), Conflict of Interest (COI) reporting, Current and Pending (C&P), and reviewing proposed budgets for accuracy and compliance.
Assist in providing technical support for purchasing and human resource policies and processes.
Aid with resolving system and accounting errors.
Finalizes documents for sponsored project close out.
General Administrative Duties
Collect, organize, maintain, and conduct quality control of all financial and human resource documents.
Compose and distribute information related to grant administration.
Maintain, review, and improve the administrative processes for pre-award and post-award support.
Identifies and solves problems within the goals of the unit.
Applies broad knowledge of concepts and procedures to perform complex tasks.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in relevant field, and
3-5 years of relevant experience.
Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Background Information
This position has been identified as a safety/security sensitive position. Therefore, per AZ Revised Statute, Northern Arizona University requires satisfactory results for the following: a criminal background investigation, employment history investigation, degree verification (in some cases) and fingerprinting. In addition, the Fire Safety Report is combined with the Annual Security Report for the NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus as this campus has on-campus student housing. This report discloses fire safety policies and procedures related to on-campus student housing and statistics for fires that occurred in those facilities. Salary
Anticipated salary range is $53,588 to $60,000. Annual salary commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.
FLSA Status
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and therefore will not earn overtime or compensatory time for additional time worked.

This is a Classified Staff (CLS) position. Employees will have 31 days from their start date to enroll in benefits. Additionally, new employees will begin participating in the Arizona State Retirement System, and the long-term disability coverage that accompanies it, on the first of the pay period following 6 months after the new employee's start date.
