Manage the university's centralized processes for internal funding opportunities, federal limited competitions, and prestigious nominations. As a member of the Research Development team, identify and communicate these funding and prestigious nomination opportunities to the University of Vermont research community, using available funding database and communication platforms. Responsible for: identifying and communicating with campus about other relevant funding opportunities through development and management of automated funding opportunity newsletters; training the campus research community in the use of funding database resources; and communicating research development resources and events via newsletters or the Research Development website.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 2-4 years' related experience required. Experience in a research support role (research development, proposal development, research administration, conducting research)

As well as:

Ability to work professionally as part of a broader research development team that may include faculty, staff, and senior administrators required.

Proficiency with Office 365, word processing software, various communication platforms.

Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to quickly become familiar with complex subject matter in a wide variety of academic disciplines, as well as the missions and priorities of a wide range of funders.

Desirable Qualifications

MS degree and three to five years of proposal and/or research development or project management experience. Experience with website maintenance (Drupal). Experience with electronic research systems/funding databases (e.g., UVM Click, InfoReady Review, Pivot-RP). Familiarity with the grant application and development process

Anticipated Pay Range 52,000-56,000/year Other Information
