The Baylor Center for Developmental Disabilities invests in research, training, outreach, and clinical services that promotes the flourishing of people with disabilities, their families, and communities. The Center hosts a growing number of programs, clinics, projects, and events focused on supporting individuals with intellectual disability, autism, and an array of other developmental disabilities. Likewise, we are committed to helping schools and communities welcome and support the full participation of people with disabilities and their families.

What We're Looking For

The Baylor Center for Developmental Disabilities is looking for a Grants Manager. The mission of our Center is to promote the flourishing of individuals with developmental disabilities, their families, and communities through compelling research, training, leadership, outreach, and clinical services. We will be expanding our portfolio of externally funded projects and growing the number of faculty affiliates. This person will help support our pursuit of new funding and effectively manage ongoing grants.

Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, or related areas, minimum of two years of experience related to grant or research administration, and an active Christian Faith are required.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Job Expectations:

  • Identify potential research funders and support faculty in preparing programmatic aspects of proposals for sponsored projects, ensuring compliance with all Baylor and sponsor guidelines

  • Manage pre- and post-award programmatic operations related to funded research grants

  • Perform Center administrative duties and support financial manager in budgetary and accounting duties in conjunction with sponsored projects as needed

  • Develop and revise policies and procedures for managing research projects within the Center to ensure compliance with Office of Vice Provost for Research (OVPR) guidelines

  • Coordinate within the University's Research and Compliance Administration system (CARA) approvals from relevant faculty, deans, and administrative committees for proposals, contract and project modifications to ensure that all parties understand all obligations and budgetary commitments

  • Provide website content updates related to research and grant activities

  • Ensure timely submission of required sponsor programmatic reports as necessary

  • Develop and present training within OVPR guidelines to assist faculty and staff in administration of grant and research budgets

  • Work with University Research Administrator to assist with budget and proposal processing, tracking of sign-off procedures, and timely submissions of proposals to OVPR Pre-Award for final review and submission to the sponsor via mail or electronic submission

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of University's Human Resources system to facilitate requesting, hiring, and processing of personnel for grant-related positions

  • Maintain auditable records

  • Work with OVPR and University Development to seek funding opportunities for the research priorities of the Center

  • Participate in and contribute to regular Center team meetings
