To assist the Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships & Career Pathways, the Bridge for Black Americans Pursuing Medicine (BBAPM) Program Coordinator will support all activities of the BBAPM.  The coordinator will be required to work between 20-30 hours-not to exceed 30 hours per week for the duration of the grant.  Major responsibilities include recruitment, registration, tracking student progress, making connections with industry partners, residential supervision of the residential immersion program, and coordinating the work of project staff.  The incumbent will work approximately 1,100 hours. This Coordinator will work with a team in an environment that fosters intellectual growth by active participation in project management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with the Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships & Experiential Learning to coordinate the activities of the program inclusive of recruitment, registration, strategic partnership outreach, and monitoring student progress.

  • Document project activities and development operational guide for the Bridge for Black Americans Pursuing Medicine (BBAPM).

  • Based on grant specification, develop web content about the program, maintain and submit updates to the Cheyney University Web Master for visibility.

  • Acts as a pseudo-figure that manages social media messaging about the program.

  • Assist with the set-up of Learning Management Systems platform to deliver program content.

  • Records best practices resulting from program delivery.

  • Work with project team in assessing project needs and activities. Assist with the compilation of related reports.

  • Assist with planning check-in meetings, information sessions and other interpersonal activities.

  • Provide supervision of residential immersion programs as residential staff.

  • Assist with on-boarding other project personnel and tracking project expenses.

  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned.

This position requires the coordinator to work closely with the other members of Cheyney's campus community including Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, IT, and the Business Office. The incumbent would gain a vast knowledge of the ins-and-outs of the academic division, observe the interaction between other divisions, and actively participate in the development of the Bridge for Black Americans Pursuing Medicine (BBAPM).

Minimum Qualifications: Selection Criteria: Minimum Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Requires a minimum twelve (12) months commitment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office-Word, Excel, PowerPoint; web conferencing tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams; and social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter.

  • Experience managing or collaborating on projects with effective results of participation.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage groups and engage others in learning activities.

  • At least one completed semester of graduate coursework with a background in either Biology, Public Health, Social Sciences, or Healthcare Studies.
