GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Receiving direction from the Sr. Grant Administrator and various PI's of the A. A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, the Grant Coordinator is responsible for assisting pre-award grant and contract administration (NIH, other Federal, Industrial and Foundation Grants, Contracts and Service Agreements). Provides support to a wide variety of investigators regarding budget preparation and all aspects of pre-award policies and procedures for a high volume research center. Requires a high degree of initiative, discretion, ability to prioritize, multi-task and handle confidential information
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support faculty and fellows in the preparation of research proposal applications for grants in compliance with sponsor guidelines and Institute standards for excellence.
Assist preparing budgets and budget justifications; ensure proposal compliance with Hospital and grantor policies and procedures, as well as those of subcontracting institutions.
Serve as liaison to subcontracting institutions
Maintain updated other support pages in shared electronic files for proposal and JIT requests
Monitor proposal compliance issues by working closely with Partners Research Management Pre-Award contact, Principal Investigators and Departmental Management)
Maintain updates to checklist for R and K series NIH awards for distribution and use to faculty and fellows
Prepare and report grant metric data via Microstrategy
Maintain grant data base to ensure all information is current and accurate
Attend monthly Research Administration Discussion Group (RADG) meetings and training sessions to remain current with federal, state and other sponsor requirements and policy issues
Report generation and special projects as needed by management
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Demonstrated working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
Strong attention to detail

Excellent word processing/spreadsheet/database skills

EDUCATION:
Minimum Required: Some college or Associate's Degree
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
Experience:
Required: 1 year of related experience
Fiscal Responsibility:
Responsible for assisting in developing grant application budgets ranging from $100,000 - $1,000,00
Working Conditions:
Work performed in an office setting within a large research center. Limited exposure to a laboratory setting.
