JOB TITLE: GRANT ACCOUNTANT DEPARTMENT: FINANCE
SALARY RANGE: $45,000 - $50,000 FLSA: EXEMPT
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Assistant College Director for Finance

Position Summary
The Grant Accountant monitors and maintains financial accounting records for grant funds in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and grant requirements.
Essential Job Duties
Prepare and enter general ledger journal entries and approved budget adjustment entries.
Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations, as applicable to grants.
Complete requests and answer inquiries related to the general ledger.
Prepare required reporting according to the grantor and other agencies, as applicable.
Assist in the preparation of sub-award contracts (if applicable).
Assist with submissions of requests for reimbursements.
Review and monitor sub-award recipients (if applicable).
Support regional directors for p-card procedures, submission and documentation.
Develop and implement electronic workflow processes.
Prepare year-end audit work papers.
Perform other grant oversight duties as assigned.
Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
Comply with system policies and procedures.
Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision.
Complete special research projects related to financial analysis and prepare various financial analyses for management.
Maintain financial records and supporting documentation for internal/external review and in accordance with record retention policies.
Perform other duties as assigned, including attending system functions, serving on committees and attending community events.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning.
Minimum of two years' work experience (full-time, part-time and/or internship).
Sound knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong self-management skills.
Ability to work well with others.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Minimum of two years of accounting/auditing experience.
Experience with fund accounting.
Experience with grants, Uniform Guidance and compliance.
Experience with Colleague.
Experience working within a collegiate setting.

Environment: Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions. Requires extended periods of time viewing computer monitor or standing; may require adjustment of schedule to include some evening and/or weekends; may encounter occasional exposure to inclement weather during travel.
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
