Summary: This position is responsible for assembling frames, stretching canvas, and packaging of our product.

Finishing product includes: cutting, sewing, grommets, laminating, mounting, and shrink wrap. Operates various other production machinery as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Follow detailed procedures to manufacture and assemble frames.

  • Stretch canvas over frames in a timely manner while meeting quality standards

  • Assemble finished products into boxes for shipping.

  • May perform related tasks such as placing labels on packages, etc.

  • Cross-training in other production areas as required.

Good written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

Working knowledge of the set-up, adjustment, procedures, capabilities and limitations of equipment to perform the full range of standard and specialized folding, collating, and cutting of printed materials to complete a finished product.

Familiarity with different paper weights, sizes, kinds and colors so as to be able to identify paper conditions. Familiarity with basic mathematics (i.e. decimals, metric units) to understand dimensional requirements contained in job orders and to make more complicated adjustments.

Ability to read and interpret written work instructions within area of responsibility and basic computer operation. Ability and willingness to work in other departments when needed. Strong attention to detail skills.

Be knowledgeable of all safety policies and adhere to them. Provide suggestions and input to continue to improve safety on all levels. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

Required Experience

One to three months related experience and/or training. Work Environment: Work near moving mechanical parts.

Physical Demands: Standing/Walking 100% of shift.

Repetitive use of arms and hands. Some bending and twisting. Routinely lift up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.

Inspect equipment for safety issues. Make needed adjustments to coordinate the multiple work stations on a single machine. Direct crew though all aspects of production.
