Processes receiving, settlement, and payment of grain purchases as well as the processing truck and rail shipments and settlements of grain sales for Heartland Co-op.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process contracts, settlements, and payments for grain purchased by Heartland

Co-op from customers. Process truck and rail shipments, settlements, and payments for grain sold by Heartland Co-op.

  • Interact with customers on the phone or in person regarding grain bids, contract options, and buying grain.

  • Answer customer questions regarding grain settlements and policies regarding docs, discounts, and storage rates.

  • Maintain a high level of customer service and a friendly atmosphere.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AS 400 grain and inventory software.

Certificates and Licenses:

May be required to maintain a current weighing license and grain grading certificate.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
