2019 Summer Internship Program

We are seeking a well-qualified individual for a Graduate/Undergraduate Internship in our Member Regulation Department in Los Angeles, CA. The Summer Internship Program runs from May 20, 2019 through August 9, 2019. To be considered for this position, please submit your resume through our career site at www.finra.org/careers. You will obtain an understanding of FINRA, how FINRA interrelates with the securities industry, and also learn about investigative techniques and industry practices. This is an introductory-level position in which incumbents train for assigned roles, train to learn job related skills, and work under direct supervision.
Essential Job Functions:
Assist the staff in the gathering and analyzing of evidentiary documentation.
Assist with customer interviews and the preparation of written summaries of such.
Prepare exhibits and questions for investigative interviews.
Participate in on-the-record interviews of witnesses and respondents.
Participate in case strategy meetings with Member Regulation and Enforcement staff.
Draft examination reports that summarize the investigative steps taken, and the staff's analysis of, the evidence gathered during an examination.
Special projects as needed.
Working toward a Masters degree with an emphasis in Law, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
Course work understanding of the securities industry and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 preferred.
Only candidates pursuing graduate studies will be considered. Some internship positions may require law students to be entering their final year of study.
Work experience in a financial, brokerage or investment environment is a plus.
Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and professional demeanor.
Effective communication, time management, and organizational skills.
Ability to work with others and independently to meet deadlines.
Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
