Responsibilities may be quite diverse of a t technical nature. U.S. experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job. Job assignments are usually for the summer or for short periods during breaks from school.

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral trait:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

Able to work for a minimum of 6-months.

Candidate must be pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or any other related field.

At least 6 months of experience with:

  • Computer Architecture

  • Digital Design

  • Data structures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Scripting language (Perl or Python preferred).

  • Assembly programming

Responsibilities The SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER - GRADUATE SUMMER INTERN will work with senior Emerson Technology Research team mentors and industry experts to: * Develop and enhance comprehensive best practices handbook to display process data in a refinery * Support research projects using DeltaV operation system on diving wall column * Design and develop state of the art software engineering tools for configuring the flagship process control product DeltaV * Develop software related to User Interface, Communications, Control, I/O, and other areas * Implement internal tools, prototypes of new functionality, or other projects related to Emerson product development * Design, code development, unit and integration testing Additional Information Relocation benefits are not available with this position.
