Graduate Student Accessible Print Assistant, Student Access Center

Job Description

• 75% Assist SAC professional staff in managing accessible print production including downloading, organizing and assigning electronic course materials for editing, creating tactile materials, scanning, and converting print-based materials, and creating a variety of accessible formats.
• 10% Assist the print coordinator with tracking and reporting of accessible print course materials.
• 10% Assist the testing team with proctoring accommodated exams. This includes proctoring during final exam week.
• 5% Represent Student Access Center at events and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Must be a graduate student starting in the Summer 2024 or Fall 2024 semester.

• Interest in working with students with disabilities as evidenced by cover letter.

• Experience using common office technologies as demonstrated by previous work experience.

• During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities as evidenced by resume.

• Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent verbal communication skills as demonstrated by the interview.

• Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, and Adobe products.

• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
