No Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the graduate programs in Computer Science;

  • Assists the Graduate Program Directors with monitoring the progress of M.S. and (eventually) Ph.D. graduate students towards graduation;

  • Assists the Graduate Program Directors with the recruitment of new applicants to the graduate programs; - Assists the Graduate Program Directors in responding to student queries; - Assists the Graduate Program Directors in outreach to alumni and keeping track of alumni; - Monitors the Graduate Admissions portal for new applicants and assists with outreach to incomplete applications; - Coordinates new international applications with the ISSS office;

  • Processes stipends and tuition reimbursement for support of new and continuing graduate students;

  • In consultation with the Chairperson/Program Director, monitors the Graduate Activity Fee budget account;

  • In consultation with the Graduate Program Directors, assists with assignments of teaching assistants;

  • Assists with registration of graduate students, and performs other duties as required; - Assists and coordinates departmental events such as new student orientation and end-of-semester celebration; - Assists with maintaining and updating the graduate website and graduate handbook; - Assists the Administrative Assistant as needed;

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of related experience in an office setting.


  • High school diploma or equivalent and one to three years of relevant experience; some positions may require additional experience.

  • Ability to communicate to all levels of administration.

  • Excellent organizational skills and punctuality.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to Interact with individuals at various levels throughout the university.

  • Positive attitude and the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.



Computer Skills

Intermediate MS Word processing, MS Excel Spreadsheet, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint. Adept user of Internet, e-mail and similar systems.

The approximate expected hours for this position is 11 hours per week.

Work days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00am-5:00pm.<br></p><p><strong>Major Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Maintains phone systems, conference room spaces and office equipment.</li><li>Ensures proper functioning of all office equipment and has responsibility for equipment leases and vendor management. </li><li>Coordinates inventory and ordering of supplies for the foundation to support home and in-person office needs. Manages inventory of office supplies</li><li>Provides phone coverage for the Foundation, in answering calls and connecting callers to the right point of contact for needs. </li></ul><ul><li>Prepares and submits the weekly bank deposit for Accounting, processes credit card donations.</li><li>Opens and distributes incoming mail/packages; prepares outgoing mail</li><li>Assigns workspaces for interns, volunteers, and office guests.
