Job Summary

This position is for a Graduate Process Engineer I or II to support the development, design and optimization of pollution control and byproduct handling and/or beneficiation processes associated with the Power, Industrial, and Oil and Gas industries. The successful candidate is expected to apply chemical engineering principles in the completion of assignments in accordance with AECOM and client standards while conforming to the specified project scope, budget and schedule. This position is client facing at times, and a successful candidate will be professional, self-motivated, and energetic with excellent communication and inter-personal skills.

Typical projects are throughout North America, can range in value from $100,000 to $100,000,000, and can encompass all phases of project execution, including engineering, procurement and construction. The Process Engineer works under the direction of a Lead Process Engineer and the Process Engineering Team Lead. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Process Design Basis development;

  • Process Flow Diagram development;

  • Material and energy balance development for equipment and line sizing;

  • Contribution to Piping & Instrumentation Diagram, project lists and registers, and equipment and instrumentation datasheet development;

  • Process control strategy and operating manual development;

  • Assistance with equipment procurement and bid evaluation;

  • Support for laboratory-, bench-, pilot- and full-scale test programs;

  • Training of client staff in proper process operation and maintenance practices;

  • Process commissioning and start-up support; and field testing, measurement, troubleshooting, and optimization support

Minimum Requirements

Engineer I:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.

  • 0-2 years of process engineering experience

  • Prior experience in data analytics

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite

Engineer II:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.

  • 2-5 years of process engineering experience

  • Prior experience in data analytics

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • EIT preferred.

  • Water, power or oil & gas industries engineering experience.

  • Proficient with simulation tools like AspenTech, HYSYS, AspenPlus.

  • AutoCAD experience

Additional Information:

  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

  • Relocation support is available for this position.

Position Overview Provide expert engineering support for a wide range of products through all phases of product development and manufacturing; being responsible for development, implementation and support of various processes pertaining to the manufacture and quality control of mechanical heart valves, OEM products, and new products. Responsibilities * Coordinate and manage new complex process introduction schedule and activities, and cross-product issues throughout the product life cycle. * Work closely with product engineers and product development engineers during Design Control phases to conceptualize, develop and implement processes. Responsibility includes debugging processes, reliability qualification, cycle time optimization and yield enhancement. * Validate and document intricate process control systems, testing equipment, and manufacturing equipment using methods such as SPC, process capability, R&R and software test cases to satisfy GMP and FDA requirements. * Coordinate and lead the identification, development and implementation of new or improved product manufacturing and inspection processes. * Communicate technical product status to management, including executive level. These can include new or existing processes. * Support Product Engineering, Product Development, Production, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance to assure assigned processes successfully produce components or sub-assemblies that conform to applicable drawings, specifications, and/or procedures. * Maintain and expand in-depth knowledge of pertinent Manufacturing Technologies and disseminate this information as requested to various engineering and production groups. * Develop, implement and maintain complex PLC controlled processes, including design, PLC programming and development of monitoring methods. * Stay current with various CAD, programming, inspection, and manufacturing system technologies and philosophies * Provide various component cycle time estimates for product costing * Provide cost and return on investment estimates for new equipment * Perform additional duties that may be assigned by Supervisor * Support and improve ongoing manufacturing processes * Develop software or work with IT to develop software systems and databases * Relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: (a) can get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; (b) perform work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, persuading or speaking with others; and (c) respond appropriately to criticism from a supervisor * Manage time effectively; prioritize and make good business judgments and decisions in relationship to efficiency Qualifications * BS in engineering with 8+ years of process engineering experience, MS preferred * Detailed understanding of diagnostic, product test, failure analysis, and debug techniques. * Experience working with clean rooms, sterilizers, CNC equipment, and PLC equipment * Proven ability to take complex process designs into production. * Solid understanding of circuit design, as well as fault modeling and isolation. * Experienced with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks * Experience with Visual Basic and CMM programming preferred * Green Belt in 5S/Lean Manufacturing preferred * Self-starter with strong leadership, communication skills and proven problem solving ability * Ability to read, analyze, interpret and follow written instructions * Ability to interpret and follow oral instructions * Required to read, write and speak English with good command of the language, and use moderately complex math. * Ability to work in a team environment to achieve a common goal * Strong computer skills including at minimum, be adept in use of MS Office, internet and electronic mail * Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, analyze information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills Company Info Who We Are.
