About the Role
Unlicensed Pharmacist
Job Summary:
The Unlicensed Pharmacist is an entry-level position and duties are designed to develop knowledge base and competency level while performing pharmacy functions under the direct supervision of a clinical pharmacist. Functions performed include but are not limited to: medication counseling and patient education drug information drug dosing drug preparation and drug distribution. In addition the Unlicensed Pharmacist will serve as a preceptor for student pharmacists participate in educational experiences and engage in scholarship. The Unlicensed Pharmacist ensures that a patient's medication needs are maintained under the supervision of a clinical pharmacist through compliance with the pharmacy's policies rules and regulations promulgated by the Board of Pharmacy and other applicable regulatory bodies.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform medication history interviews food-drug interaction counseling assessment of patient medication education needs and adherence
Create updated medication lists for patients
Assess patient's progression to achieving desired medication treatment goals
Develop and recommend appropriate therapeutic plans identify and resolve drug-related problems communicate to other pharmacy team members follow through and document in the electronic record
Review medication orders for appropriate dose duration frequency dosage form indication and drug interactions
Perform pharmacokinetic monitoring
Retrieve evaluate and provide drug information to health care providers answering general and patient specific drug information questions
Review documented adverse drug reactions/allergies and report new occurrences
Promote health wellness and disease prevention
Apply federal and state legal standards surrounding medication use
Perform computer order entry and claim adjudication
Perform duties and responsibilities according to the philosophy and standards of SelectRx including conveying courtesy respect enthusiasm and positive attitudes in work situations with clients peers and visitors; maintains client and associate confidentiality. The individual is responsible for understanding all the applicable policies and procedures of the department necessary to perform essential job function. Reports to Pharmacy Manager

Proficiency in reading writing and speaking is required
Education and Experience:
Completion of 2 years of Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum in a approved Pharmacy program required
6 to 12 months' previous pharmacy work experience
Employment is contingent upon Pharmacist licensure within 90 days of employment
Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer
Able to lift up to 30 pounds' maximum and/or carrying objects weighing up to 20 pounds
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Saturday. This position may occasionally require extended evening hours as job duties demand
