Graduate Nursing Coordinator
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for communication with graduate nursing program applicants and ensuring a smooth transition from Admissions into the graduate programs. Responsible for Medatrax, Shadow Health, ATI, NEI and Fitzgerald registration/setup. Administrative duties include establishing clinical affiliation agreements, participating in recruitment events, creating course schedules, and preparing faculty and adjunct compensation documents. This position serves on the Admissions, Progression, Retention & Graduation committee (APRG), tracking enrollment, progression, retention, and graduation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Graduate nursing responsibilities:
Coordinate with Admissions including NursingCAS, communicate and schedule graduate interviews
Create initial degree plan and register all graduate students for their first semester
Prepare/submit student access report to security & pba card each semester
Prepare/process Directed Studies as required each semester
Send new cohort advisee list to Registrar's Office
Process course overcapacities each semester
Prepare/submit DNP practicum & project stipends each semester
Assist with preparation of the semester course schedules, live class dates, and online session schedules
Serve as advocate for the student with student accounts, financial aid, registrar, etc.
Register and renew graduate students in Medatrax, process requisitions
Create Medatrax courses, assignments, and evaluations each semester
Register students into Medatrax courses
Order new practicum student name badges
Register graduate students in Shadow Health each semester, process requisitions
Register psych mental health graduate students in Neuroscience Education Institute (NEI) each semester, process requisitions
Register students with certification preparation vendor, i.e. Fitzgerald, ATI, Barkley, etc
Inform MSN and DNP students when to apply for graduation
Establish required clinical affiliation agreements, track those with an expiration date
Recruitment and event participation, i.e.NCSF, AANP, open houses, and local hospital education fairs
Work with associate deans and track chairs to create course schedules each semester
Prepare information for several annual surveys
Process requisitions as required
Assist in coordinating and participate in Graduate Nursing Summit, New Student Orientation, Hooding and Commencement
Negotiate, in conjunction with GSOP, UpToDate contract annually
Update catalog course descriptions and catalogs annually
Assist Associate Dean in updating student handbooks annually
Propose changes to the SON portion of website
Serve on the SON APRG committee
Track enrollment, assessment, progression, and retention data
Assist in processing SON scholarships each semester
Other duties as assigned
JOB FACTORS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Baccalaureate Required. (Health-related or educational field preferred)
BSN or higher education
1-2 years of experience in higher education administration/student development preferred
1-2 years of experience in detail-oriented, administrative setting required
Strong analytical and communication skills are an essential element of the position. Knowledge of Word, Excel, Access Database and Jenzabar preferred.
