Graduate Engineers will support the design and development of DMT products, with a specific focus on hardware/firmware products for above and under-ground mining applications.

The technology is mining domain specific, a mixture of software, firmware, and hardware for use on vehicles and machinery used for mining operations. The products requiring focus for this role relate to Collision Awareness (CAS). The role is supported with mechanical and software peers, and is located at the DMT production facility, and electronic production support is expected when required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the broader engineering team to create optimum hardware/firmware solutions.

  • Concurrently manage multiple priorities monitoring progress and quality.

  • Provide timely communications on significant issues, risks, or developments.

  • Participate in technical design reviews.

  • May work with customers (internal and external) to create product specifications.

  • Work with system engineers in system decomposition, allocating functions to hardware/firmware or software as required.

  • Do detailed embedded/digital hardware designs.

  • Create verification/validation and qualification test plans.

  • Work closely with the broader engineering team (ECAD/MCAD/Software) to create optimum hardware/firmware/software solutions.

  • Perform sample procurement and board debug/bring up.

  • Perform or review V&V and qualification tests.

  • Work closely with the Mechanical/Software peers to ensure developments meet the requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

Degree qualified (preference for Electrical Engineering) with exposure to working with embedded / industrial products.

Essential:

  • Keen interest in design, in particular embedded products for industrial/automotive environments.

  • Electronic design tools (Altium preferred) experience.

Desired:

  • Knowledge of product regulatory compliance for markets RCM, CE, FCC.

  • Knowledge of engineering V model

  • Production engineering, design for test, tester design and maintenance.
