Our Southeast Environmental business is looking for a Field Geologist to join their team in Decatur, Alabama. As a geologist, you will support a variety of environmental investigation projects in northern Alabama.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Technical field oversight of monitoring well installations including logging of soil and bedrock stratigraphy.

• Environmental sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, and sediment.

• Single well response testing (falling and rising head).

• Completion of stratigraphy logs and geological cross-section development.

• Documentation of all work in field notes, forms and electronic records.

What you will bring to the team:

• Bachelor of Science in Geology

• 0 to 5 years of experience in environmental geology

• Ability and willingness to travel and perform field work 80-100% of the time (this will include working outdoors in adverse weather conditions)

• Valid driver's license

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Attention to detail along with strong organizational skills

• 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification is a plus

• Drilling/logging in limestone bedrock and karst geology a plus

• Professional Geologist (PG) Certification, or ability to obtain future certification, a plus

• Environmental Health and Safety Program experience a plus

• Positive attitude; good interpersonal skills
