Education and/or Equivalent Experience:

  • Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • None.

Graduate Engineer B:

Education and/or Equivalent Experience:

  • Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a related field, plus two (2) years of experience in engineering.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • Texas: Engineer
  • In Training Certification.

Engineer A:

Education and/or Equivalent Experience:

  • Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job, plus four (4) years of engineering experience acquired before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas; or if currently licensed in another state, must have the ability to obtain a Texas P.E. license within six (6) months of employment.

Engineer B:

  • Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to engineering, plus six (6) years of experience in engineering acquired before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas; or if currently licensed in another state, must have the ability to obtain a Texas P.E. license within six (6) months of employment.

Engineer C:

  • Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job, plus eight (8) years of engineering experience acquired before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas; or if currently licensed in another state, must have the ability to obtain a Texas P.E. license within six (6) months of employment.

As a Process Engineer, you'll play a critical role in optimizing and maintaining the performance of our wastewater treatment processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of our facilities. You'll have the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues, or immediately contribute your expertise, as you take ownership of process control strategies, technical problem-solving, and troubleshooting. In this meaningful and fulfilling role, you'll work directly with plant operations staff in the field to protect human health and promote environmental stewardship. 1.Regulatory Support

  • Work with plant Operations staff to create a robust process that reliably meets regulatory requirements.

  • Evaluate the plant process to identify risks that could cause the plant to violate regulatory standards. Communicate these risks to stakeholders and work with the team to develop a solution.

  • Support the Regulatory Manager to complete all regulatory reports and ensure their accuracy, provide supporting documentation for all plant compliance issues, support in TCEQ investigations, etc.

2.Operations Support

  • Produce monthly Process Control Reports to communicate each plant's performance metrics.

  • Work in a plant setting with Operations and Laboratory staff on projects to optimize the process for improved plant efficiency, resiliency, electrical usage, and chemical usage.

  • Monitor chemical contracts, update purchasing specifications, and provide technical support to purchasing.

  • Make technical presentations to a variety of audiences as part of training for plant staff or plant tours for the public.

3.CIP Support

  • Provide process-related review for Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) to ensure that the projects will improve the function and operation of the facility.

  • Research innovative technologies and provide process-related recommendations on CIPs and collaborate with selected consultants in the industry.

This position will be filled at one of the following levels depending upon candidate qualifications:

  • Graduate Engineer A: $33.05 to $42.14 per hour

  • Graduate Engineer B: $35.04 to $44.67 per hour

  • Engineer A: $38.97 to $50.67 per hour

  • Engineer B: $41.40 to $54.21 per hour

  • Engineer C: $44.62 to $58.01 per hour

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental, Water Resources Engineering or related field.

  • Experience or knowledge in wastewater treatment processes typically used by municipalities.

  • Experience or knowledge in design, construction, and/or operation of wastewater treatment plants.

  • Experience or knowledge in wastewater regulatory compliance and reporting.

  • Experience with technical writing and presenting to a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience building, calibrating, and analyzing process models using BioWin, GPS-X, and/or Sumo.

  • Familiarity with biological nutrient removal (BNR) principles and techniques in municipal wastewater treatment.

  • Ability to learn from and collaborate with peers.

  • Ability to travel to more than one work location.
