Overview:

Mason & Hanger is currently seeking an innovative Graduate Electrical Engineer with a strong desire to develop technical and leadership skills and gain experience while designing exciting projects throughout the US and across the globe in support of our mission of Building a More Secure World.

The ideal candidate will be driven to learn new skills in electrical engineering, telecommunications, and security, and will be responsible for researching, evaluating, and designing projects with guidance and mentoring from a professional engineer. Systems include medium and low voltage electrical distribution, critical power and redundancy including emergency/standby generators and UPS systems, data centers, building and security lighting, telecommunications structured cabling systems, electronic security and CCTV systems, and solar PV and other sustainable energy solutions for government, commercial, and industrial projects.

The ideal candidate must be a team player with excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology (ABET Accredited)

  • U.S. citizenship

  • Ability to obtain a government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate

  • Experience designing building lighting, power distribution, and/or telecommunications and security, or other electrical systems

  • AutoCAD/Revit proficiency

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook

  • Active Security Clearance

  • Experience with Department of State/OBO

  • Experience with Corps of Engineers

  • Telecommunications and/or Security Design experience

  • Commissioning experience

  • BICSI, LEED, LC, CxA, or CTS certification

The Cloud Security Engineer will deploy Cloud Security Automation and Engineering toolsets that align with existing security policies and work closely with the Cloud Security Advisors and the Cloud Security Architecture teams to identify and close policy gaps with the use of automation in order to continuously increase the security posture in the cloud. Additional responsibilities also include the creation and maintenance of all documentation (e.g. standards, procedures) necessary for compliance with security controls and tool selection. It also includes evaluating / stress testing existing IT security measures and continually identifying and mitigating new threats and vulnerabilities. This is a Senior professional role within Cybersecurity Engineering that applies in-depth knowledge within a foundational understanding of concepts and principles of other IT related professional disciplines. Applies knowledge of best practices derived from engineering experience to solve a range of complex technical and cybersecurity problems. Takes a new perspective on existing solutions to solve complex problems. Exercises judgment based on the analysis (e.g. modeling, testing, etc.) of multiple sources of information. Leads small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements; plays significant roles in larger, more complex initiatives. Supporting a range of business customers, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams. Explains and interprets complex, difficult, or sensitive information. Acts as a resource for teammates with less experience. Works independently and receives minimal guidance. Responsibilities * Designs and implements CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment of cloud security related resources and infrastructure * Automation of security configurations and security related workloads based on security policies * Development of internal tools and processes flows to support automation security initiatives * Implementation of Highly Available security systems * Responsible for creation of Run books/Playbooks pertaining to deployment processes and operational support * Works with engineers and architects to design security solutions via design input and code reviews * Provides direct feedback to senior leadership on project status and projection of timeline for completion for outlined tasks * Produce implementation plans for engineering tasks of solutions from end to end * Ability to provide feedback for PI planning activities pertaining to project status and future state * Maintain clear and concise communications throughout the planning and deployment process * Ability to act as a liaison between departments to ensure all tasks are understood and completed properly * Work with teammates to evaluate new technical solutions and how to leverage emerging technologies * Advanced diagnostic and problem-solving skills * Ability to act as an escalation point * Provides mentorship for peers * Other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements: Five years of experience in systems engineering or administration or an equivalent combination of education and work experience focusing on IT Security. Experience with AWS and/or MS Azure with a minimum of two years or equivalent on-premises virtual environments. In-depth knowledge in information systems and ability to identify, apply, and implement best practices. Understanding of key business processes and competitive strategies related to IT functions. Ability to plan and manage projects. Ability to solve complex problems by applying best practices. Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates. Ability to interpret and convey complex, difficult, or sensitive information. Skill Requirements * 10+ years of IT professional experience preferred * Minimum 5+ Years of IT Security Experience * Minimum 2+ years of Cloud Experience * Desired 2+ years deploying Automated Cloud Workloads - CI/CD Pipeline Experience preferred * Experience identifying workflows to enable automation deployment for complex systems * Coding languages (JSON, Python, PowerShell, C++, ect.) * Implementation of Security Framework solutions (NIST, FedRAMP, ect.) * Server less/API Integration Experience a Plus * Professional Certifications (AWS, Azure, CISSP, CCSP, Security+) desired Additional Experience * Automation build, test, and deployment through modern CI/CD * Working Knowledge of Agile methodology and sprints * Deploying, and supporting production cloud scalable infrastructure * Working with Highly Available systems deployed in the Cloud * Prefer hands-on experience with container technologies * Infrastructure-as-code experience a plus * Configuration-as-code via tools like Jenkins/Ansible * Broad security/IT background * Security automation tools * Advanced Cloud concepts * Linux knowledge preferred Preferred Requirements: Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
