Program Description: The Presidential Research Fellow program provides college recognition regarding incoming doctoral students' potential for outstanding scholarship/creative work and professional contributions. The program objectives are to recruit high quality doctoral students who will provide high quality teaching experiences for undergraduate CEP students. The PRF program provides a stipend over 12 months for a period of 2 and years and a scholarship to cover tuition and fees. The student will work as a Graduate Associate Instructor.
Duties include, but are not limited to, providing feedback and/or grading student work; monitoring/proctoring course activities; leading laboratory sessions, discussion sessions, or recitation labs; providing office hour assistance to students; and performing clerical tasks associated with course instruction.
As Instructors of Record, Graduate Associate Instructors will function as auxiliary teaching staff and are employed to teach courses at the undergraduate level (For additional requirements associated with teaching assignments, see the UTRGV Faculty Teaching Qualifications Policy). The maximum number of teaching hours for a semester is six (6) and the maximum amount of time allowed for assigned duties is twenty (20) hours per week. The criteria for assigning courses will follow college and department guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous Pre-K-12 or higher education teaching experience
Experience with educational technology and online teaching
Experience working or teaching in bi/multilingual settings
