Description
Position Summary
To assist the Head/Assistant Women's Basketball Coach in all facets of the JV program with the emphasis on teaching and mentoring team member's relative to sport specific skill as well as administrative tasks. NCAA II rules and regulations, individual and team development concepts as well as life skills education. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Head Coach.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Assists the head/assistant coach operate the JV program at practices, games, and administrative tasks
Educates and mentors student athletes in all aspects of their holistic development; mind, body and spirit.
Assists in the coordination of travel arrangements and meals for road trips.
Practice setup/teardown and execution
Game day operation and tasks
Filming/making video clips as needed
Camps
Laundry
Social Media
Assists in completion and processing of paperwork as requested.
Works cooperatively with personnel in the athletic department, attends department meetings and activities if needed, and always represents the University in a positive manner when interacting with the community, alumni, coaches, the media and the general public.
Responsible for abiding by NCAA II compliance rules and legislation as well as educating student-athletes about those rules.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Head/Assistant Coach and/or the Vice President/Director of Athletics.
Failure to comply by NCAA II rules will be grounds for discipline and/or termination.
Other duties as assigned or required.

Required Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Must understand and support the Mission, Vision and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University, as a Catholic higher education university as expressed in Ex Corde Ecclesiae, and possess the following:
Education: Bachelor's degree required as well as acceptance into a Walsh University Graduate Program.
Work Experience: At least 3 years' experience in the sport of Women's Basketball, including playing and/or coaching. Other significant experience relative to coaching and/or the administration of an intercollegiate athletics program can be considered.
Skills and abilities:
Professional demeanor and ability to interact with charity towards students, staff and faculty. Positive attitude a must.

Must be able to handle and communicate over loud noises in gymnasium; whistles, crowd noise; yelling and screaming.
