. Job Overview: The Office of Undergraduate Admissions Graduate Assistant is a 10-month position each year over the course of earning a Master's degree at Albertus Magnus College. The Graduate Assistant position will support the Office of Undergraduate Admissions on the New Haven campus. The Graduate Assistant will work part-time to assist the Office of Undergraduate Admissions with daily operations and the recruitment of prospective students. The Graduate Assistant will assist with running the operations of the Admissions Ambassador Program and provide campus tours as needed to prospective students and their families while providing excellent customer service. The Graduate Assistant will provide desk coverage for Mohun Hall's front desk and answer the main phone line.

Graduate Assistant Positions are limited to applicants seeking degrees in the following programs:

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Master of Science in Management and Organizational Leadership (MSMOL)
  • Master of Science in Criminal Justice

Essential Functions:

  • Comfortable using Slate, the Enrollment CRM system, to look up student records and pull queries for required data.

  • Assist with the running of the Albertus Ambassador Program. Attend and facilitate meetings, provide guidance to Ambassadors, and assist with ongoing training development.

  • Provide training to each Ambassador and assist with mock tours. Communicate consistently with Ambassadors in regard to tour, event, and calling campaign coverage.

  • Provide feedback to Admissions professional who oversees the overarching Ambassador program in regards to Ambassador personnel issues and resolutions of the same.

  • Train Ambassadors on how to run queries from Slate to ensure all acceptance and deposit mailings are sent out within a reasonable time frame.

  • With direction from Admissions leadership, provide tasks and direction to Ambassador while they work in the Office of Admissions, Mohun Hall.

  • Assist with the coordination of Office of Admissions events, including, but not limited to, Open Houses, Accepted Student Days, Weekday/ Saturday Tour Sessions, and Group Tours.

  • Provide campus tours to prospective students, as needed.

  • Travel independently or with Admissions Counselors to high schools and college fairs to represent the College through informational presentations.

  • Develop content for the Office of Admissions' social media channels, including Instagram and TikTok. Work with Albertus Ambassadors and students.

  • Answer phones and direct callers to appropriate offices.

  • Assist with administrative tasks that arise, such as mailings and filing.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, their families, and all auxiliary offices and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.

  • Solid computer skills; willingness to learn and adapt to new software/technology.

  • Innovative thinking, able to think outside of the box and present ideas to Admissions leadership.

  • Adaptable to change; able to work independently or with a team confidently on projects.

  • Highly professional, has good judgment, and is willing to take the initiative.

  • Ability to multitask and work gracefully under pressure.

  • Takes pride in work to ensure the task is completed within a reasonable time frame and accurately.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

  • Acceptance to an approved program at Albertus Magnus College.

  • Full-time enrollment is required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience working in education, counseling services, admissions, or business is preferred (but not required).

  • Bilingual preferred (but not required).

  • Excellent communication, organization and time management skills.

  • Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, GroupMe, and Social Media Channels such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

  • Maintains professionalism and confidentiality.

  • Works independently and with a team under pressure and is able to multitask.

Work Schedule Requirements:

  • Monday
  • Thursday in-office shifts, 9:30 am

  • 4:30 pm, with 30-minute lunch break (6.5 hour shifts).

  • Some evening and weekend hours will be required.

  • No more than 20 hours a week
