Title: Graduate Assistant (GA) - Office of Accessibility Services
Supervisor: Director of Accessibility Services
Location: Daemen University, Amherst NY Campus
General Functions and Responsibilities:
Coordinate assistive technology, logistics and serve as proctor as needed for testing
Assist in the planning of the inaugural induction ceremony for Delta Alpha Pi (DAPi) - International Honor Society
Provide support and guidance to new members of DAPi in fulfilling requirement of campus wide disability awareness activity
Work with case load of first time freshman students with disabilities to ease transition into college by supporting the development and improvement of success skills
Maintain records, data and case notes to analyze, recognize and report trends
Assist with Blackboard Organization maintenance
Meet with the Director of Accessibility Services routinely
Other related duties as deemed appropriate in collaboration with the Director
Registered in a Master Degree program in a related field
Ability to work independently and responsibly as the position requires motivation and organization
Creativity and critical thinking skills to analyze and provide innovative solutions and/or resources
Working knowledge of the ADA Amendment Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act
Organized with strong time management skills and communication skills
The graduate assistant will work 10 hours per week from September through May 2022 with a winter holiday break and will be compensated $2500 stipend per semester once the work is completed.

General Physical Requirements:
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects; desk job with majority of sedentary work sitting roughly 50% or greater of the workday.
Climate controlled office setting, but some activities/ duties can occur both inside and outside the office setting.
Various trainings assigned upon hire and annually thereafter by the Office of Employee Engagement.
