Reporting to the Dean of Students and based in the Dean of Students office, the Lewis Central Navigator, a Graduate Assistant, will serve at the Lewis Central Information Desk in the lobby Learning Resource Center (LRC). The Lewis Central Navigator is critical to providing a welcoming and exceptional service excellence-oriented experience for all who visit or pass through the LRC. In this role, the Lewis Central Navigator greets and assists students, employees, and guests with care and concern by creating a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere, providing directions, answering questions, and offering general support and making informed referrals related to services and functions based specifically in the Learning Resource Center, but also throughout campus.
Responsibilities
Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission and Catholic and Lasallian Higher education.
Foster inclusive excellence and promote equity for students consistent with the University's designation as a "Sanctified Zone"
Epitomizes outstanding service excellence (customer service) to students, faculty/staff, and visitors through all interactions as viewed through the University's Service Excellence Philosophy.
Provides hands-on assistance and guidance to students for matters related to Financial Aid Services, the Student Accounts/Bursar's Office, the Registrar's Office, Career Services, and Residence Life.
Effectively utilizes technology and other platforms and resources, including Banner, the myLewis Student Portal, and the Lewis University Master Calendar to provide and share information, to assist students in navigating common processes and practices, provide directions, and answer questions about campus events and activities.
Monitors activities in the LRC Lobby, reporting incidents of concern or policy violations.
Demonstrate the ability to multi-task, think critically, solve problems and work independently.
Track daily assistance and service requests to use for continuous improvement purposes
Participates in required training and orientation activities
Upholds Student Handbook policies and procedures including the University "Front Door Policy"
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree is required
Must be enrolled and maintain satisfactory progress in one of the University's graduate programs
Possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and proven interpersonal skills
Demonstrates the ability to multi-task, think critically, solve problems and work independently
Has the ability to handle confidential information and exercise discretion
Possess the ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment while effectively managing multiple priorities
Possess experience with Microsoft 365 Office Suite and other available technologies.
Preferred Qualifications Essential Duties Work hours
Part-time; average of 20 hours per week
