Job Summary

The University of Kentucky Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment (M-G CAFE) Center for Student Success is seeking a highly motivated individual to assist with the programming, planning, coordination, and administrative needs around student recruitment. The successful candidate must be of graduate student status at the University of Kentucky, preferably enrolled in a Martin-Gatton CAFE graduate program.

  • Support the college's prospective student initiatives (i.e., first-time freshmen, transfer, and graduate student populations). This includes facilitating and supporting individual and group visits and related college exploration opportunities, in-person or virtual.

  • Contribute to college recruitment travel, including at locations on-campus, off-campus, in-state, regional, and national points of interest in line with the strategy of college's recruitment team.

  • Support the Director of Student Relations in their instruction of a leadership-oriented course for college student ambassadors. This includes on-going support and development including trainings, retreats, selection, and advisement.

  • Provide excellent customer service before all college audiences and stakeholders. This includes managing email, answering incoming calls, returning messages, and direct callers to appropriate offices, providing directions for the college buildings and parking, as well as guiding faculty and staff who support prospective student events.

  • Complete various administrate tasks including calendar/scheduling support, mailings, data entry, copies, and creating packets of information for various recruitment needs.

  • Support project needs related to marketing and communications where appropriate.

  • Support annual college scholarship review process.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Valid driver's license required.

  • Knowledge and willingness to learn about M-G CAFE and the college's academic programs.

  • Commitment to promoting the various disciplines of agriculture, food, environment, and related areas to prospective students.

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? No Preferred Education/Experience
