POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Well-being Director, the Graduate Assistant (GA) for University Well-being assists in the management of wellness programs and campaigns in collaboration with campus and community partners. Responsibilities include: planning and implementing physical activity and nutrition challenges, and coordinating well-being related programming.
These programs include Gannon Moves, Wellness Adventure Week Activities, active work stations, ergonomics programming, Stress Less Week, and Type 2 Could Be You, and Summer CSA Programming. The Well-being Graduate Assistant also supports operations related to signature events on campus and in the community such as Step it Up Erie County, West BayFit, Well360 Rewards, Second Harvest Proxy Program, the Wellness Write-in, Hunger-Free Campus Programming, and Tobacco-Free Campus Programming. The GA for University Well-being is part of a larger team and will also have the responsibility of mentoring well-being student staff with assigned projects. The GA must be able to support and promote the University's Mission and philosophy of well-being.

The Well-being GA is expected to plan and implement wellness programming across the university and community. We strive to proactively anticipate the needs of our participants to provide the best experience possible.
Quick decision making and multitasking are essential to provide seamless programming.
They must also be able to evaluate the effectiveness of programming and pivot to best fit the needs of our Gannon community.
Professionalism
The Well-being GA assists with programming for students, staff, faculty and community members. It is essential that they are dependable and professional when they represent the university.
Marketing materials that are distributed need to be polished and error free. The GA is responsible for designing and distributing most marketing material to help promote our programming.
The GA is expected to attend all wellness events prepared and ready to engage with participants. The Well-being Department works closely as a team and relies on the dependability of our workers to execute programming.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Applied Exercise Science, Public Health, Business, or Recreation and Sports Management or health related field.
Experience: A minimum of one year experience in wellness, recreation, or fitness center programming, operations, and supervision is preferred.
Skills: Must have strong leadership and organizational skills. This individual must be able to work with a diverse population that would include students, faculty, staff, alumni and community leaders.
Licenses or Certifications: CPR and First Aid
University Mission: Must be able to support and promote the University's Mission.
Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands
Must be able to meet the physical demands associated with a facility and programming.
