Job Description
Wentworth Institute of Technology is seeking applicants interested in joining the Wentworth community as a Graduate Assistant, Student Engagement.
The position will expose a graduate student in Student Affairs (or related field) to a multifaceted office that handles a variety of campus activities/events, student organization advising, and leadership education. The graduate assistant (GA) will gain experience in program development, event planning, leadership education, club advising, assessment, and additional areas of interest. Additionally, this individual will be provided free, on-campus housing and participate in the on-call rotation within the Office of Housing and Residential Education.
Projects will be tailored to meet student interest and office needs during Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semester(s). Projects may include:
Planning & executing leadership events for students
Planning, executing and assessing campus-wide programs
Assisting in the advisement of one or more student groups, including the Wentworth Events Board
Serving on an institute-wide committee
Participating in weekend programming
Supporting student organization development
Other duties to allow the pursuit of professional interests and development
Serving in the Housing & Residential Education on-call rotation, attending training or required meetings associated with being on-call
Schedule/Hours per week:
15-20 hours per week, as needed, with practicum or assistantship requirements for the graduate program
Serve in the Housing & Residential Education on-call rotation
Some nights and weekends are required
Flexible schedule
Position Dates: Fall 2024 & Spring 2025 Semesters
Fall Start: August 10, 2024
Fall End: December 13, 2024
Spring Start: January 6, 2024
Spring End: End of April with potential for re-hire
