Missouri Valley College has an opening for a graduate assistant in Nonprofit Management.
Position Summary:
Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support for the academic programs to include but not limited to grading assessments, proctoring exams, etc.
Supervise community based nonprofit programming including: community assessments, service and applied learning experiences
Recruiting for the nonprofit major
Support and promote existing Nonprofit Management and Nonprofit Leadership Alliance Student Association and initiatives, including but not limited to food recovery and distribution, hygiene and personal product distribution, the professional and climate closets and the emotional support plant exchange
Identify and develop opportunities for our students to attain and expand on their educational, personal and professional skills and competencies with emphasis on addressing community needs.
Other responsibilities to support the specific GA personal and professional goals
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Earned bachelor's degree in nonprofit management or related discipline. (In some cases candidates who are in their final year of an undergraduate degree may apply).
Demonstrated leadership and program supervision experience
Preferred experience with service and/or applied experiences (classroom based, internship, volunteer, etc.)
Effective interpersonal skills; ability to interact productively with students, faculty staff, and other constituents.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and wiliness to work irregular hours.
Experience working with diverse student populations, including international students.
Basic computer literacy; basic competency in software and database systems (i.e. Microsoft Office, Adobe).
Experience in various forms of advertising, including social media.
