General Description: The Graduate Assistant for LU Success assists in providing outreach and academic support to undergraduate students at Lamar University.

This position reports directly to the LU Success Coordinator. This position will require creativity, student success research, and building rapport with students. Duties: • Participate in both preliminary and on-going STAR Services training • Assist in the day-to-day operations of LU Success • Assist the Program Coordinator with student and program assessment and follow-up • Assist in promoting and marketing LU Success and student outreach though social media, emails, phone calls, and campus events • Interact with students though workshops, and academic coaching • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a currently enrolled graduate student at Lamar University for the Fall 2020 semester • High level organizational skills • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Demonstrates self-starting initiative • Experience in providing direct academic support (academic coaching, tutoring, mentoring, teaching, etc.) • Skilled in Microsoft Office
