This position is a graduate assistantship with the College of Behavioral and Social
Sciences which offers an in-depth educational and professional position to a
student working simultaneously towards a graduate degree. The areas of
concentration for this assistantship include technology, community service, co-
curricular programming, student recruitment, and general administrative functions.
The average work week is 20 hours including some evenings and weekends.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and update social media, webpages, OrgSync, and Elms-Canvas

Assist Director, Associate Director, and students with CIVICUS community
service programming, classes, retreats, and special events

Attend CIVICUS activities

Update and maintain program records

Keep regular office hours, including periodic evenings and weekends

Assist with student recruitment

Assume other administrative duties as assigned
There may be an opportunity to teach one credit courses for first-year CIVICUS
students

VIEW JOBS 3/17/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-15T00:00 The College Park Scholars in the Arts, a living and learning program of the Office of Undergraduate Studies and co-sponsored by the College of Arts and Humanities, is seeking a highly motivated, reliable and creative individual to fill a 20 hr./week, 9.5-month graduate assistantship as Assistant Director, beginning in the Fall 2020 semester including a competitive stipend plus eligibility for benefits and tuition remission. Pending job performance and budgetary considerations, this position could be extended into subsequent semesters and include part-time summer compensation. Appointment to this position will commence in August 2020. This position includes the teaching of a weekly colloquium of first or second year students that combines theoretical and practical elements of art and creative process in an openly collaborative classroom environment. Administrative responsibilities include advising of freshman and sophomore research projects in an active living and learning academic environment, outreach to campus and local arts organizations, and assisting with the planning and implementation of various programmatic activities including; local and regional field trips, Arts Fest student exhibition, annual Scholars academic showcase and guest artist-related events (Concert in Close Quarters). Other administrative duties may be assigned. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrable leadership skills to support student learning and the capacity to exercise professionalism and effective time management skills while balancing the rigor of graduate level academic study. The College Park Scholars community and its twelve thematic programs provide a unique experience for developing broad connections across a wide range of disciplines. The graduate assistant director works closely with the Director and Associate Director in supporting opportunities for students to experience the depth of cultural diversity and educational resources available at the University and beyond.
