Position Summary
The Program Assistant provides support to various programming in the Center for Academic Excellence, including administrative support at the CAE Reception desk, help with First Year Experience planning and implementation, retention initiatives, data-entry and reports, and helping facilitate academic events across all CAE areas. This position includes 28 hours of weekly work, including afternoon and evening hours during the academic calendar, while completing a master's degree program. This is a 12-month position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Serve as front-line support for students checking in for appointments/meetings or seeking assistance with any support services during the afternoon and evening hours (3-10 pm) during the academic school year; Regular business hours when classes are not in session.
Provide administrative support to all CAE program areas, checking in with Directors and area Coordinators.
Assist with planning, communication, and execution of the various First Year Experience initiatives and other CAE events held on campus.
Support daily operations of CAE programming by managing phones, scheduling and monitoring appointments, and managing communication with student/peer mentors.
Assist with data-entry for retention programming, helping to collect information for area reports at the end of each semester/year.
Serve as a persistence coach for a caseload of students assigned by the Executive Director, and work with other persistence coaches to monitor academic standing and progress.
Complete other duties as assigned to support the mission of Olivet Nazarene University, the Center for Academic Excellence, and its various constituencies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None, but may interact with student workers to discuss scheduling needs and special projects.

Additional Information
EDUCATION
An undergraduate degree required along with experience within the college setting is beneficial.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires 28 hours of work, with afternoon and evening hours required during the academic calendar (when classes are in session). Office space will be in an open environment, located in the Center for Academic Excellence. A schedule will be critical to this role and set, with flexibility, with the supervisor.
