The Berry College Office of Alumni Relations is seeking a Graduate Assistant to support engagement efforts with current students and young alumni as part of the overall goals for the Office of Advancement. Reporting to the Director of Alumni Relations, this individual will work part-time with a team responsible for developing and strengthening a pipeline of engagement alumni through the entire lifecycle, ultimately resulting in increased levels of participation and giving.

The Engagement Graduate Assistant will focus primarily on programming and initiatives that target students and young alumni (0 to 10 years out). An emphasis will be placed on enhancing existing programs, exploring new program ideas based on best practices around philanthropy and participation, and identifying creative marketing strategies to target these specific age groups. Additionally, under the guidance of the director, the graduate student will participate in goal setting and strategy building, develop assessment measures for programs, and manage a budget to further their professional development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Research best practices, develop, and implement a philanthropy education program for Berry students.

  • Plan and oversee the execution of student programs such as Always Berry Week, Double Digit Doubleheader, Senior Send-Off, and campus event(s) for Berry History Week.

  • Work with Senior Class Officers on class fundraising efforts.

  • Revamp and implement the Young Alumni Partner Program, which includes junior and senior students along with young alumni mentors.

  • Manage communication and outreach for the Young Alumni Leadership Giving Circle.

  • Assist the department in outreach and regional programming planning for our young alumni population.

  • Participate in the planning and execution of Mountain Day Weekend events.

  • Assist with other department and Advancement Division initiatives as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Must apply and be admitted to a graduate program at Berry.

  • Experience in event planning, event execution, and/or marketing is preferred.

  • Ability to facilitate collaborative relationships and work in a team environment.

  • Willingness to supervise and mentor students.

  • Availability to work occasional nights and weekends.
