Job Description:

The Office of Admissions at Fredonia is a dynamic, fast-paced environment made up of qualified, caring professionals. We are dedicated to ensuring that every applicant receives quality service and we take great care in processing and reviewing all applications in a timely manner.

Rewards & Benefits:

  • Year one stipend of $6,700; if completing a two year appointment - second year stipend increases to $7,200/semester. Stipends are subject to change according to contractual negotiations, working 20 hours per week.

  • Graduate tuition waiver 6 hours first semester, 9 hours second semester for a SUNY College or University.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the coordination of and participation in on-campus recruitment activities (i.e. Open Houses, Saturday Visits, Counselor bus trips, etc.);

  • Maintain monthly information session calendars to ensure adequate staffing;

  • Conduct weekly information sessions with prospective students;

  • Participate in cross training for campus/departmental tours;

  • Assist in the hiring, training and mentoring of student tour guides;

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications on Social Media initiatives as it relates to the enrollment funnel;

  • Gain a fundamental understanding of Admissions operating systems - SLATE,Onbase and Banner;

  • Correspond with prospective students and their families via email, text, telephone, and provide enrollment and application information to prospective students;

  • Participate in semi-local, off-campus recruitment efforts as needed;

  • Be aware of, understand, and follow all university policies.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Baccalaureate degree and enrolled in a Graduate Program in Student Personnel, Counseling, Education, or other related fields at a SUNY College or University;

  • Computer proficiency required (Microsoft Suite & Google Workspace);

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills;

  • Demonstrated social media experience;

  • Valid driver's license;

  • Experience in college admissions functions and student development preferred;

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, take initiative and work well with others in a team environment;

  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and constituents in support of campus and department mission;

Additional Information:

This is a part-time, temporary one-two year appointment represented by GSEU.

Two year appointments are preferred, but one year appointments are possible depending upon the requirements of the degree program.
