Full Time/Part Time: Part Time- 50% FTE (20 hrs/wk)

Temporary/Permanent: Temporary

Salary: $2,076/month minimum

Other Conditions: To begin August 1, 2025 pending position clearance and availability of funds. Temporary position not to exceed June 30, 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under general supervision:

  1. Teach two sections of ASAN 150 Intro to Research and Writing in Asian Studies: one in Fall 2025 and one in Spring 2026.

  2. Hold at least one office hour per week.

  3. Attend training sessions, debriefings and other meetings as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Full-time classified graduate student enrolled in a UHM graduate degree program at time of hire.

  2. Bachelor's or Master's degree in appropriate field from a college or university of recognized standing.

  3. Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Experience teaching first-year writing and/or research courses at the college level.
