We partner with the best technical talent in academia and industry to challenge the status quo, pioneer new technologies, and create transformative solutions.
The Quantum Engineering and Computing (QEC) group is seeking a Co-op or intern researcher in the area of 2D layered materials and their applications. The projects will aim to study the fundamental physics of the two-dimensional materials, including but not limited to graphene, superconductors, dielectric insulators, topological materials, and semiconductors, and their applications in quantum information science. The position will cover the design, fabrication, measurement, and study of quantum devices. The candidate will join a highly collaborative and close-knit group comprising theorists and experimentalists working on quantum computation and engineering, both in QEC group and partnering with research groups at universities.
What are some of the things you might do?
Design and simulation of 2D quantum devices
Fabricate devices from 2D layered materials such as graphene
Setup equipment and define a process for fabricating devices from 2D materials.
Characterize structures such as superconductors, dielectric insulators, topological materials, and semiconductors
Measure and study quantum devices
Work collaboratively and communicate frequently with theoretical and experimental scientists.
Present accomplishments to BBN QEC group members
What will you need?
Candidate for Master's degree in physics, engineering, math, or a related field
Ability to start as a full-time or part-time intern or Co-op January 2021 and continue as a summer intern.
