Full time Grade 4/5 Classroom Teacher at the Brockton Therapeutic Day School.

Licensure Requirements:
DESE Certification in the appropriate content area. Core content educators are also required to be dual certified in either Moderate Disabilities (PK-8; 5-12) or Severe Disabilities (All Levels).
Core content educators with active DESE Certification in their content and do not hold certification in Moderate Disabilities (PK-
8; 5-12) or Severe Disabilities (All Levels) will be expected to be working toward such certification.
Training Requirements:
Beyond attendance at district/department professional development activities, all faculty and staff will be required to:
Hold (or be available to earn) current certification in Safety-Care Crisis Prevention Training. Applicants without this certification
will be required to attend a two-day workshop in August or afterschool training in September.

Attend Restorative Justice training and maintain proficiency with the core concepts, elements, and aspects of Restorative
Practices.

Attend PBIS training and maintain proficiency with the core concepts, elements, and aspects of a whole-school and class-wide
PBIS model.

Attend Healing Centered Engagement (previously referred to as "Trauma Informed Care") training and maintain proficiency with
the core concepts, elements, and aspects of Healing Centered Engagement.

Attend all school-based professional development activities related to student, milieu, or programmatic needs.

Additional Responsibilities:

Establish and maintain regular and frequent two-way collaborative communication with students' care givers (parent/guardian,
family, mentors, DCF/DMH, etc.) and the school-based clinical team.

Maintain currency and demonstrate proficiency with evidence-based best practices relative to Healing Centered Engagement,
Restorative Practices, and PBIS.

Work with various sources of student academic, social-emotional, and behavioral data and utilize this data effectively to improve
student outcomes.

Support data collection to demonstrate student progress toward IEP goals and objectives.

Support flexible scheduling to ensure student and programmatic success.

Support, and be an active member of, the therapeutic milieu and demonstrate effective application of the essential skills and
competencies to prevent and de-escalate challenging behaviors.

Develop, implement, and maintain a class-wide system of positive behavior interventions and supports.

Work collaboratively with a Special Educator in a co-teaching capacity to plan and design, deliver, and assess academic lessons
and activities.

Other responsibilities as assigned by the principal, or designee.

Teachers Work Day: 7:05am- 2:15pm

COMPENSATION: Teacher salary plus $2,500 differential per year.
