HCA Nurse Residency Program (Emergency Room)
StaRN Program (16 weeks total):
Our StaRN Program will provide you with the tools necessary to succeed in today's hospital environment. It will help you transition out of the classroom setting and onto the unit by providing the following training:
8 weeks classroom, self-study, skills & simulations
8 weeks preceptorship
Certifications: ECG, TeamSTEPPS, BLS/ACLS, ENPC, TNCC, PALS, CPI
After StaRN, you will transition into our Professional Development Residency:
9 month program factored into a full time position on the unit
You will learn Charge Nurse and Preceptor skills
You will collaborate with a mentor to complete an evidence based Capstone Project (4 hours a month)
Your project has an opportunity to gain recognition by corporate for further recognition

Additional Information about our Emergency Room:
You will work in a Level 1 Trauma Center on a 50-bed unit with 10 beds dedicated to Pediatric ED & 5 beds dedicated to Psych ED
Our ER is the busiest ER in the city! Nurses in our ER must be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
We have 2 rooftop helipads- ours is the largest in the state!
We are Chest Pain and Stroke Accredited with Dedicated Point of Care Testing
Our ER is a mid-level provider in triage 7 days a week & our fast-track ER is open 7 days a week

Graduate of an accredited nursing school within the past 6 months- BSN preferred
Applicants may apply and be offered position prior to passing NCLEX exam
Previous nursing support or service industry experience preferred
Self-motivated and strong communication skills required
