GPU Power Architecture and Design

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with GPU architects and designers to define usecases and identify power optimization initiatives.

  • Run GPU performance models and power tools, analyze data, prototype power initiatives, and evaluate ROI against project goals.

  • Drive power reduction effort including estimation and analysis, power targets tracking, flow setup, and methodology improvements.

Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • RTL design, simulation, synthesis, and low power design

  • Masters/PhD degree in a relevant field is prefered

  • Scripting language, e.g. Perl, Python, etc.

  • Knowledge/Experience in power analysis tools (e.g. Ptpx, Power Artist, etc.) and Graphics pipeline is a plus.

  • Strong analysis and problem solving skills, team-player, well organized, and self-driven.

  • Excellent communication skills.

This position can be in Markham, Canada or Orlando, FL MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES * Overall lead for design verification efforts at the subsystem level for the Geometry Subsystem * Understand GFX IP architecture with primary focus on the Geometry Subsystem domain * Develop, build, and/or enhance UVM-based testbenches for subsystem-level verification * Own, drive, and deliver full test plan for subsystem-level verification * Propose enhancements and/or applications of the Front-end Geometry Subsystem Testbench * Debug, triage, and resolve functional/performance issues found in subsystem-level verification * Work closely with design, verification and architecture teams as required * Own, maintain, and present relevant documentation including presentations KEY REQUIREMENTS * Familiar with Linux Environment (including shell scripting and Linux GNU tools) * Knowledge of graphics pipeline is a plus * Experience with design for verification (e.g. assertion-based design strategies, code coverage, functional coverage, test planning, etc.) * Versatile in any one of the high-level verification flows such as SV, OVM, UVM, etc. as well as knowledge and usage of industry standard tools for verification (e.g. Synopsys tools) * Proven and strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills * Proven and strong documentation skills * Communicate clearly and effectively with peers and management * Capable of overseeing the work of junior design verification engineers * Able to function successfully in a dynamic, fast-paced environment in a global organization EDUCATION * Major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science * Master's Degree with 6+ years, or Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years working experience #LI-PH1 Requisition Number: 74442 Country: United States State: Florida City: Orlando Job Function: Design AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies or fee based recruitment services.
