Responsibilities
The Government Relations Internship is one discipline of IDEMIA North America's 12-week Summer Internship Program. The intern will be an integral member of the team and will use their knowledge of state and federal government to provide research and administrative support to leaders in the Government Relations department. In this role, interns will have the opportunity to learn and assist in technology and civil identity related lobbying efforts.
A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the inner workings of state and federal government, exceptional research, organizational, communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Integrate into recurring meetings
Conduct policy research on a wide array of issue areas
Draft materials of policy research for Government Relations staff
Track civil identity and technology related legislation
Observe and participate in corporate lobbying efforts
Qualifications
You are a college junior or senior majoring in Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
Must be authorized to work in the US
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Interest in public policy, politics, and current events
Robust communication (written and verbal), collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Drive and eagerness to learn
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in previous government relations-related role or internship
Passion for innovative technologies and security/identity related issues
Interest in the political process, governing and public service
