We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Government Affairs Specialist in Nashville, TN.

The Government Affairs Specialist contributes to the local, state, and federal advocacy responsibilities carried out by Envision's Government Affairs department. The Specialist will coordinate activities to support key policy initiatives that impact Envision's entities and mission work with members of the team to develop and implement legislative advocacy programs.

Responsibilities

  • Draft internal and external advocacy communications to raise awareness of government affairs and advocacy activities.

  • Perform a variety of duties to promote and advance Envision' s strategic objectives through key legislative and regulatory policy initiatives.

  • Provide research, data analysis, report compilation and presentation of data including but not limited to legislative and regulatory issues that impact Envision and the healthcare industry.

  • Collaborate with external consultants and interface with key internal and external stakeholders to provide policy research and data analysis related to changes in the health care industry.

  • Evaluate and develop strategies to analyze, compose, prepare and present various reports and papers associated with local, state and federal legislation and regulation associated with the health care industry.

  • Plan and execute events and meetings designed to educate government officials and community leaders about the envisions services.

  • Maintain a continually evolving knowledge base of the health care market, including facts, concepts, trends, and key health policy issues related to health care reform and specific to the activities of a comprehensive cancer center. Expertise will include familiarity with the activities of key state health agencies as well as knowledge in public health issues and policy.

  • Develop complex presentation materials and written documents, including formal letters, fact sheets, and other communications on diverse issues that impact cancer care or research for a variety of audiences, including senior leadership, external partners, legislators, and state or federal government agencies.

  • Build relationships and maintain communications with counterparts at aligned organizations and other key stakeholders.

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

  • Special projects and performs other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements:

Microsoft Windows Office.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Political Science or related discipline from an accredited university or college. Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in government affairs in a healthcare environment.
