Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking a Governance Manager for the Leggett & Platt Automotive Group (LPAG) team either at the location in Troy, Michigan or Carthage, Missouri. This position will be responsible for supporting the Global Director of Governance, while managing a team of Governance Analysts and Data Stewards, in the development and maintenance of governance standards, policies, procedures, methods, tools and templates.
Provides direction, sets goals and objectives, conducts performance reviews and serves to resolve issues with Governance team
Responsible for budget planning, managing department budget and governance employee time and expense approvals
Works closely with Governance Analysts to prepare proposed Change Requests and supporting documentation, and assists in the design of solutions as well as shepherding the Change Requests through the review and approval process
Acts as the gatekeeper of all major changes
Assists the Global Director of Governance with the preparation and facilitation of the Steering Committee agenda and quarterly meetings
Implements policies, procedures, controls, tools, and other mechanisms critical for the efficient and effective performance of the Governance organization
Monitors and continuously improves departmental performance metrics
Bachelor's degree required, MBA/graduate degree strongly preferred
PMP and/or Six Sigma certification a plus
7-10 years progressive management experience in the manufacturing industry; automotive experience a plus
Background in people management, financial responsibility, operational excellence, and business decision-making
Strong program management experience a plus
Customer relationship focused
Ability to adapt and change in a fast-paced environment
Experience developing and deploying strategies and new process models
Experience defining and reviewing quality metrics and governance metrics to assess performance and effectiveness
Experience translating business needs into functional requirements for proposed changes
Compliance experience a plus
