Great opportunity to work outdoors with the Tanglewood Golf Maintenance staff.

An employee in this position will work in all areas of golf course maintenance on the three golf courses at Tanglewood. Typical duties are course set up, wilt watching greens, operating greens aeration equipment, tree cutting and removal along with other general golf maintenance work. This employee will be responsible for operating a variety of small equipment and tractors.

Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday and shared weekends, with hours varying between 6:30 am to 3:00 pm depending on time of year.

Golf Maintenance does require flexibility in scheduling as staff is sometimes required to stay late or work a different schedule (9:30 am to 6:00 pm, for example).

Distinguishing Features:A successful candidate should have:

Considerable knowledge of standard golf course maintenance practices;

Ability to operate and maintain a variety of reel-type mowers and other golf grounds maintenance equipment;

Ability to operate tractors, loaders, backhoes, mowers and other large equipment;

Ability to diagnose wilt, disease and insect damage;

Ability to perform a variety of skilled golf course maintenance duties; and

Knowledge of safe and efficient use of all types of golf course equipment.

Minimum Education and Experience:Graduation from high school or GED and two years of experience in golf course maintenance.

A valid driver's license is required.

Pesticide license must be obtained within one year of employment.

Prefer Associate degree in turf management or related field.

A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement.

Must have demonstrated ability to safely operate motorized mowing and landscape.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Monitors golf course greens for stresses, including wilt, disease and insect damage;

Sets up golf course for daily play;

Mows fairways and adjusts equipment for precise cut, as necessary;

Performs backlapping of reels and adjusts height of cut;

Acts as lead worker in fertilizing of greens;

Operates backhoe and assists in felling trees;

Assists in installation of irrigation systems;

Top-dresses greens and tees; seeding and over-seeding;

Operates large variety of mowers and large equipment; and

Performs general golf maintenance tasks as needed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Picks product from location based on information provided on pick ticket. * Attaches pick ticket labels to shipping cartons. * Pull non-conveyable offline sales order via pick ticket. * Stacks boxes on appropriate pallet and places pallet out for next wave. * Cleans pick module/work areas on daily basis; Keeps picking locations neat, orderly and safe. * Operates RF scanner. * Demonstrates safe working practices in all facets of job. * May train new or less experienced staff members. * Demonstrate a Continuous Improvement mindset – through participation in events and activities that lead to financial gain, time savings, and/or waste reduction for the business. While working in the Selection department, responsibilities may include: * As directed, processes exceptions resulting from process errors and misreads on Spur 19. * Active pick/Mod support; collect holes; consolidate pallets, remove empty pallets; empty gaylords as needed; replenish carton flow; monitor pallet returns. * Rotating responsibility for efficient daily operation of automated material handling/sortation system. * Responsible for start-up and shut down of sortation system. * Provides Leads with timely information on product flow, lane backup and overall sortation system operations – daily, hourly. * Works cross functionally to close waves quickly and efficiently. * Works with Maintenance to prevent and correct issues which affect efficient operation of sortation system – i.e. motor overloads, camera lighting problems, etc. * Interact with appropriate functional area on trouble issues such as no-reads, miss-picks, etc. * Responsible for keeping merge area clean and organized. While working in the Receiving department, responsibilities may include: * Utilize WMS/ASN paperwork to receive and verify inbound shipments and check in inbound carriers * Responsible for purchase order receipt and verification and tracking of all manual purchase orders. * Create and send email to Logistics team on all receipt discrepancies. * Communicate cross-functionally to resolve receiving issues and unidentified packages that are received * Communicate with buyers & planners in Asia office to correct receiving discrepancies, as needed. * Serve as a backup for dock drivers and unloading trucks as directed. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: * High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Comfortable and proficient with basic computer, keyboarding, and data entry skills. * Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. * Prior experience driving powered industrial equipment such as forklift or walkie rider is preferred. * Experience with RF technology required.
