Valid Driver's License required.
Experience with golf tournaments to include set up, scoring, and terminology highly preferred.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays (golf course is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day).
Job Summary:
Under general supervision the Golf Shop/ Player Assistant adheres to policy and procedures. Ensures customers are properly greeted and provide excellent customer service while promoting Nature Walk products and services. The Golf Shop/ Player Assistant will communicate with clubhouse staff about activities scheduled for the day, organizes carts and regulates pace of play, maintains the driving range, and secures the Golf Club at closing.
Incumbent is expected to have excellent attendance and communication skills, possess the ability to build lasting business relationships, and exhibit professionalism.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide customer service and sales of Golf-Shop products and golfing fees in person
Operate and enter data into POS system accurately. Entering customer date, tee times, cart agreements signed by leasee, selling of products, snacks, beverages, and alcohol, issue and redeem gift certificates
Process end of shift closing into POS system and prepare deposit
Adhere to dress code: collared shirt, slacks or nice jeans, no open toed shoes. Shorts and skorts are permitted. No ripped, tattered apparel.
Monitor and maintain proper levels of inventory and assist management in ordering merchandise and office supplies
Clean interior and exterior of club house area as needed
Maintain driving range
Operate the range picker and use shag bag to pick up range balls, wash balls in the ball washer then return to the ball dispenser and reload
Clean, maintain and return golf carts and/or pull carts to staging area or maintenance building.
Ensure pull carts are inside club house before closing
Identify carts with mechanical issues and park carts in maintenance area for mechanic with note.
Lock and secure motorized carts in maintenance building, lock gates and outside restrooms.
Patrol course driving against the play to regulate cart play etiquette, policies and pace of play
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
Comprehend and accurately perform complex POS system functions
Work under multiple time constraints
Operate office machinery as well as golf carts and range ball picker
Good communication skills
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Valid Drivers license
Must be 18 years of age (to sell alcohol)
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift 50lbs unassisted
Must be able work with a computer for a minimum of 7 hours daily either standing or sitting
Must be able to read printed materials and computer screen with or without MS or other software accessibility functions
Must be able to effectively communicate in e-mail, by phone, or in person during the course of the workday
