WHO WE ARE: KickingBird Golf Club is a well-maintained 18-hole championship course. KickingBird Golf Club is Edmonds oldest course and is one of Oklahomas premier public courses. We are customer service driven and enjoy providing our customers with an exceptional experience.

THE LIFE OF A GOLF MECHANIC: Maintain golf course equipment including sharpening reels. Work varies from general maintenance and repair to complete overhauls of small diesel and gasoline engines and related golf equipment. Employee uses independent judgment as to the method of repair to complete repair orders.


  • Perform maintenance on all turf equipment.

  • Adjust, sharpen and maintain reel units.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment.

  • Maintain maintenance records, organization of work area and proper inventory levels.

  • Train new employees on use of equipment.

  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.


  • 2 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Prefer Equipment Management Certificate Program, Level 1 and 2 through the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.

  • Must possess an Oklahoma drivers license and a driving record acceptable to the Citys insurance carrier.

  • Must understand the importance of and the ability to properly maintain cutting units.

  • Ability to diagnose electrical systems.

  • Basic understanding of the fundamentals of a turfgrass operation, metalworking and fabrication.

  • May be required to work after normal working hours or call back.

  • Scheduled work weeks may include weekends and/or holidays.

  • Must be able to lift objects weighing 25 pounds frequently & up to 100 pounds occasionally.

  • Must pass a physical examination at a facility designated by the City of Edmond.

Operates lawnmowers or tractor-drawn mowers in mowing golf course areas. Responsibilities: Adhere to all of the various written mandatory standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos, oral instructions, etc., all of which go to make up the essential functions of the job. Servicing of golf courses which include changing pin placements, tee markers, trash removal, and making the golf course presentable daily. Mowing of green, tees, slopes, collars, rough, and fairway areas with the appropriate piece of equipment. Prepare sand bunkers for daily play by using appropriate equipment and procedures. Wash off, fill with fuel (if applicable), and return all equipment to their proper storage areas. Assist other Members of staff whenever necessary to help expedite the completion of a task. Knowledge of safe and efficient mechanical operation of motorized equipment. JOB REQUIREMENTS * Minimum 1 year golf course experience. * High school degree preferred. * Valid Drivers License.
