Concordia University invites applicants for the position of Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach. This part-time, exempt position is responsible for administering all aspects of the sport program including: coaching, recruiting, game scheduling, supervision of personnel, fund-raising, budget management, compliance with NAIA, and conference rules/regulations at the Concordia Ann Arbor, MI Campus. This 12-month position reports to the Director of Athletics.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Instruct and teach student-athletes the skills, rules, and knowledge needed to be a collegiate golf athlete
Initiate, schedule, coordinate, and conduct scheduled practices
Demonstrate Christian concern for athlete's academic, athletic, social and spiritual development
Provide system for issuing athletic equipment to athletes and supervision of such equipment
Recruit athletes to golf program in consultation with Admission Department and Director of Athletics
Supervise assistant coaches
Coordinate with Director of Athletics in the management of home and away events
Formulate budget for respective program along with Director of Athletics
Perform other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent organizational abilities, professional written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently and maintain a schedule
Knowledge in the trends of the respective sport
Available evenings and weekends
Occasional overnight travel
Extensive travel with teams
Education and/or Training
A bachelor's degree in a related field is required, a master's degree is preferred. Previous coaching experience preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a part-time stipend position. Starting range is dependent upon on individual qualifications and experience.
