What You Will Do:
Responsible for the development of the seed production plan, including managing introduction, lifecycle, volume, and exit of each corn products in the Golden Harvest portfolio
Align product advancements and product life cycle to supply plans, trials and product pricing strategy
Train field sales to identify product gaps and strengths to field sales execution & accountability for the product plan
Develop product information and support to Sales to introduce new products in the market place
Create corn product positioning and messaging
Execute a product count plan while driving inventory to target
Serve as internal and external ambassador for the Golden Harvest corn product line
Execution of product strategy and tactics to meet the business and financial objectives
Responsible for providing product leadership to Research and Product Development, Production & Supply, Finance, Marketing, and sales to achieve business objectives for the product line
Optimize portfolio in geography to maximize grower satisfaction, Seed Advisor support and profitability
Collaborate with R&D, Product Selection Leads (PSLs), Commercial unit heads, District Sales Managers and Brand marketing to make product advancement decisions. Collaborate closely with Product Development in supporting the Golden Harvest sales team.
Network across functions within the organization in order to support the corn business and overall North American seeds business.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Agronomy, Economics, Agriculture, Marketing or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience working in agriculture, preferably in the seed industry
Knowledge of current agronomic practices used in crop production
Ability to influence direct and indirect cross-functional relationships.
Successful track record of process and project management.
Basic understanding of the financial drivers of a seed business
You Might Also Have:
A basic understanding of seed production, plant genetics, and breeding is desirable
Experience working with growers and resellers in a sales or agronomy role is preferred.
Experience managing employees is a plus.
