Job Description:

SUMMARY:

It is the responsibility of the Host Person to greet guests with warm hospitality and insure smooth operation and high level of service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Display friendly hospitality greeting and seating guests. Point out table number and direct towards buffet lines. Seat all stations equitably assuring equal distribution of parties.

  • Keep reception area clean and neat.

  • Know locations of all Golden Nugget outlets and services.

  • Answer phone properly and promptly giving name of restaurant and identifying self.

  • Be familiar with menu items and daily specials.

  • Check that tables are properly set, side stations kept clean, and all side work is properly and completely done.

  • Handling initial guest complaints and inform Manager on Duty, immediately.

  • Assure smooth transition at shift change remaining on duty until relief is present.

  • Circulate stations making sure guests are getting proper service and that all employees are in stations and doing their jobs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Experience helpful in a fast paced, high volume operation. Will train, if necessary.

  • Must have a current Health Card.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Minimum age requirement is 21

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and understand all policies and procedures.

Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, employees, and members of management in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.

Must be able to complete standard forms and reports.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an incumbent to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.   • Constant planning.
